For LLC solopreneurs
Real books for your single-member LLC, the way your CPA wants them.
Separate double-entry books, owner draws and contributions, balance sheet, recurring billing, and accountant access, without the spreadsheet hell.
No credit card required. Cancel anytime.
Everything an LLC actually needs.
Without becoming an ERP. Without QuickBooks pricing. Without learning accounting.
Separate books, for real
Your LLC gets its own tenant with a full double-entry ledger from formation date forward. No commingling with personal finances. Toggle between personal and LLC books in one click.
Owner draws and contributions
Move money between yourself and the LLC and we'll record the equity entries correctly. Owner Contributions, Owner Draws, and Retained Earnings accounts come seeded.
Basic balance sheet
Assets, liabilities, equity. The thing your CPA actually wants to see, not just a P&L.
Recurring billing for retainers
Send the same invoice to a retainer client every month, weekly, or on a custom cadence. Payments auto-reconcile to your LLC books.
Scoped, read-only accountant invite
Invite your CPA to the LLC tenant only. They see reports, transactions, and journal entries. They can't change anything, and you can revoke any time.
Agent-run close
The same close workflow that runs on your personal/Schedule C books works on the LLC. Period close, exception queue, full audit trail.
The hard part, done for you
Home office allocation on LLC books, automatically.
Your rent, utilities, and internet live on your personal books. But the business-use portion belongs on the LLC's books as an expense and an owner contribution.
Configure once. Every month, TrueBudget posts a balanced journal entry on the LLC: debit Home Office Expense, credit Owner Contributions. Full audit trail on both sides. Your accountant sees clean, explainable entries.
Started as a sole prop?
Your Schedule C history stays where it is. Past filings are untouched.
Add your LLC.
We provision a separate set of books from formation date. Connect the LLC's bank. Done.
Common LLC questions
- What kind of LLC is supported?
- Yes. We support single-member LLCs (and small multi-member LLCs at the boundary). C-corps and larger multi-member partnerships aren't supported yet.
- I've elected S-corp. Do you handle payroll?
- Not yet. S-corp owners need payroll for reasonable compensation, and we'd rather point you to providers who do payroll well than ship a half-version. Your LLC books still work the same way; payroll just lives elsewhere.
- Does the LLC tier file my business taxes?
- We don't file taxes. We produce the books, balance sheet, and accountant export. Your CPA or tax software handles the actual filing.
- Can I pay bills or move money from the app?
- No bill pay and no money movement out of your accounts. We read transactions and reconcile them; we don't initiate payments. The exception is incoming customer payments via Stripe on invoices you send.
- I have more than one LLC. Can I add another?
- Yes. Each LLC is provisioned as its own tenant with its own books, billed as an additional Business tenant. Switch between them with one click.
- How does home office work when I pay rent personally?
- Configure the home office allocation once. Each month TrueBudget posts a balanced journal entry on the LLC's books: debit Home Office Expense, credit Owner Contributions. Your accountant sees a clean, explainable entry on both sides.
- Can my accountant get access without seeing my personal finances?
- Yes. The accountant invite is read-only and scoped to a single tenant, so your CPA sees only the LLC's books. You can revoke access any time.
